In May of 2004, the artists at Rhythm + Hues Studios delivered the final shots of "Garfield: The Movie." In an effort to vent their frustration, they created a paper mache effigy of the orange cat and beat it into senseless oblivion in a corner of the studio's backlot. These images, though quite graphic, capture a profound emotional energy that can only come from months of working by the glow of computer monitors to create a large, orange, CGI cat.
