In July, 2013, Kit and I flew to New Zealand for a road trip across the country. Over a week and a half, we logged over 2600 kilometers traveling all the way from Auckland on the North Island to Te Anau on the South Island. New Zealand proved to be a very difficult place to photograph, at least in a way that I feel properly captures the incredible beauty which constantly surrounds. Short of doing 3-dimensional, fully-immersive images, it's impossible to really capture the essence of the rain forests, thermal pools, waterfalls, glaciers, mountains, rivers, lakes, fiords and sheep which seem to pour from every nook and cranny. Herein lies a small selection of my best attempts to put onto film a small fraction of what we saw.
